Hansley Ajodha has been in Theatre for 41 years, Television and Film for 38 years, Radio for 35 years. He’s won several awards for his work in these disciplines.
WORK EXPERIENCE
1988-2000
Positions held: Executive Producer, News Anchor, and Broadcast Journalist for state-owned Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT). He developed their first morning show which is still in existence today. While there he served as an International Correspondent for the state and Caricom, supported the work of the office of the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States, and promoted local and Caribbean diplomatic initiatives on the invitation of members of the worldwide Diplomatic Corps here in Trinidad and Tobago.
1988-2000
Positions held: Presenter, Journalist, Producer and Programme Administrator for the National Broadcasting Service now known as CNMG Radio 610, 100fm and 91.1 Fm.
2010-2011
Position held: Communications Director of The Ministry of Education assisted in strengthening its communications unit under the then Minister Dr Tim Gopeesingh. With such initiatives as the “Excellence In Education” Programme which sought to reward educators and educational institutes for lifetime achievements, a weekly television report on the activities and progress in the Ministry called “Education This Week”, he also served on the committee that oversaw the development of the Continuous Assessment Programme.
2000-2002
Position held: CEO and Founder of HCU Communications, where he developed Radio Shakti and several newspaper publications, as well as, he oversaw the take over of Masala Radio 101.1 and WIN TV. He also served as Broadcast Journalist and presenter/ producer for WIN TV.
2002-2014
Owner and CEO Radio Gold 99.5 FM which is now known as SKY 99.5FM part of the Guardian Media Holdings of the ANSA MCCAL GROUP.
2012- Present
CEO and owner of the film production company “Golden Eye Productions“, and serves as Writer/Director/Producer. He also served as Narrator for several documentaries short and feature length productions for several radio and television stations.
Films:
Infidelity – 90 min crime thriller/dark comedy.
Tales of the Mind – 90 min feature film presentation of short-film psychological thrillers.
Other
He helped to develop the VISION ON MISSION group, the largest prisoner, ex- prisoner and youth development organisation in the Caribbean, which is now a body under the patronage of the United Nations. He was awarded for his work with the group and the development facility’s hallway is now named after him.
He is the Secretary of the Board of Directors and co-founder of The Greater San Fernando Chamber of Commerce and has worked, and is working with the Chamber on several of its projects, pro bono.
Numerous broadcasters and news journalists in the media today were trained and developed by him, he has assisted in the expansion of theatre and theatrical spaces, was at the centre of the expansion of electronic media, both radio and Television, and is now assisting in the development and expansion of the film industry as part of diversifying the economy.
He is grateful to Trinidad and Tobago for the opportunities granted to him and believes patriotism, respect and love for country and countrymen are key ingredients to a successful and satisfying life.
